CamTran will be extending its transit service for one day on Saturday, August 22, 2009 to accommodate riders wanting to go to the Ameriserv Flood City Music Festival or late-night businesses. The Inclined Plane will be free all weekend beginning on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
The extended bus routes for that night are the following: Richland Town Centre/Route 9, Hystone/Route 12, Moxham/Route 14, Oakhurst/Route 15, and the Downtown Shuttle/Route 18. The extended service begins at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday with the last runs leaving downtown at approximately 11:00 p.m. Please print out a schedule of exact times here.
All of these routes will drop the riders off at the downtown Transit Center. Riders may then take the Downtown Trolley for 25 cents, which will circulate to the Incline and Festival Park.
CamTran encourages riders to bring a friend along for free during this extended service. “Every paying customer may bring a friend along for free,” says CamTran’s Executive Director Rose Lucey-Noll. “If you’re looking for a safe ride to and from the festival, we can offer that to you and at a reduced cost.”
CamTran’s one-way fare is $1.50 for an adult, 85 cents for a student, or 35 cents for a child under 6. The free ride with a paying customer does not need to be of equal or lesser value.
Another option is the Inclined Plane, which will be free during the Festival thanks to donations from Somerset Trust and the Johnstown Area Heritage Association. The free ride schedule for the Incline is as follows:
Friday: 5:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m.
Sunday: 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
Schedules of the service are posted at the Bus Stop Shop on Main Street and on CamTran’s website at here. Questions may be directed to 814-535-5526.
